ABOUT

 Based on the “Smart Tokyo Strategy” formulated in February of this year, Tokyo Metropolitan Government (TMG) is aiming at urban development where the power of technology can create many services that contribute to solving social issues and improving the quality of life of Tokyo residents.
It plans to build a ”Public-Private Partnership Data Platform” as a data coordination platform for effective use of various data from public and private sectors by the end of this fiscal year.
 Before that, demonstration projects to really utilize data will be conducted to provide services that contribute to solving social issues including preventive measures for COVID-19, such as adapting to the “new normal” through technology to make cities better.

What is the Public-Private Partnership Data Platform?
It’s a data platform to work with open APIs for private data from municipalities, relevant organizations, and private companies in Tokyo as well as data owned by TMG in order to widely utilize the data as resources in society. The data platform will serve as a connection point for data obtained from the physical space (real space), aiming to be the foundation for the “Digital Twin of the city”.

Demonstration Projects

  The following projects were selected to create new services with a combination of data from public and private sectors that contribute to solving social issues and improving the quality of life of Tokyo residents, including preventive measures for COVID-19.

Avoiding the Three CsInfection prevention by sparsely and densely populated office visualization and measuring contact history, and creation of correlation model with congestion information per building / area
Project overview
  • Visualizes the congestion of offices, buildings, and their surroundings in the same area from three different perspectives.
  • Identifies the causes of congestion in the target area and how to avoid it.

  • Uses installed cameras to visualize the situation of towns.
